Alzheimer's Care & Support

Caring for our elderly with dignity.

Since 2003, St. Anthony has embraced the challenge to care for the ever-expanding group of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias by providing an 18-bed Alzheimer’s facility.

Alzheimer’s care, at St. Anthony focuses on minimizing the frustrations of failing memory and disorientation and encourages each individual to participate in life to the best of their abilities in a secure, comfortable, homelike environment. Residents benefit from living room settings, family-style dining, activity areas and a staff of caregivers who are trained to apply the best practices in Alzheimer’s care on a daily basis. Every effort is made to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual and to nurture the individual spirit by learning as much as possible about family and friends.

Continuous care from early to late-stage Alzheimer’s disease is provided by a staff of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. Social workers provide admission, discharge, financial assistance and psychosocial counseling. St. Anthony Regional Hospital professionals from mental health, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, pastoral care and nutrition support the specific needs of each individual. In addition, hospital-based services such as laboratory, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and radiology are on site, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital.

Alzheimer's Association

Our group is open to the public and is facilitated by trained individuals in a confidential and supportive environment.

The goals are to:

  • Create a setting in which people can offer one another emotional, social, and spiritual support.
  • Provide opportunities to learn more about Alzheimer’s Disease.
  • Make it possible to interact in informal settings.

Caregivers can meet with others to find support, encouragement, hope, and know they are not alone. It means so much to talk to someone who has “been there.”
