Facility & Location

St. Anthony Regional Hospital is located in Carroll, Iowa, a community of 10,000 which offers all the advantages of small-town living and easy access to metropolitan areas of Des Moines and Omaha. Carroll is located in west central Iowa, approximately 100 miles from Des Moines and Omaha.

The breadth and scope of services provided by St. Anthony makes it a true regional center. St. Anthony provides a broad spectrum of healthcare services, enabling area residents to receive most of their healthcare locally. Compensation

It is the objective of St. Anthony Regional Hospital to administer a salary program for its employees which will attract, retain, motivate and reward. Our compensation program has established salary levels which are competitive with external pay practices locally and regionally among healthcare providers and other employers who are competing for available qualified candidates. Salary adjustments are made annually based on local and state market surveys.

Compensation packages also include shift differentials, weekend differentials, call pay, call back pay, holiday pay, etc.


Schedule Flexibility

Employees have the opportunity to work on a full-time, part-time, relief or PRN (intermittent) basis. We offer a variety of shifts as well as flexibility in accommodating personal needs related to family and educational commitments.


Vacation & Personal Time

Full- and part-time employees accrue vacation and personal time benefits based on hours worked. Vacation accruals increase with years of service. Vacation hours not used can be carried forward from year to year. Unused personal time benefits are paid out to employees yearly.

Additional paid time off may include time for jury duty and bereavement leave.


Health Insurance

St. Anthony Regional Hospital provides health insurance coverage to full-and part-time employees. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. St. Anthony pays approximately 60 percent of the premium cost for both single and family coverage.

Dental Insurance

Dental coverage is provided to full and part time employees the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. Single and family coverage available.


Retirement Plan 403(b)

A 403(b) plan is offered to assist employees in meeting their future personal financial goals. To participate, employees may make a pre-tax contribution of five percent or more (subject to IRS limits) of their gross wages, to which St. Anthony Regional Hospital will make a matching contribution of three percent, following one year of employment. An employee wishing to contribute three or four percent of their gross wages will receive a two percent match following one year of employment. Employees may also make additional voluntary contributions to the plan, beginning on date of hire. More than 20 investment options are available.


Life Insurance

St. Anthony Regional Hospital provides a term life insurance policy for all full-and part-time employees at no cost to the employee. Full-time employees are covered at two times basic annual earnings; part time employees receive $10,000 in coverage.


Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) provides a tax-advantaged way to pay for dependent care needs or medical expenses not covered, or only partially covered by health, dental or vision insurance. With an FSA, employees can reduce their taxable income and thus pay less federal, state and social security tax. Employees may enroll in a healthcare, dependent care, and/or non-employer sponsored premium account. St. Anthony pays all fees associated with the plans.


Tuition Assistance & Continuing Education

With our mission of provided high quality healthcare, staff education is a priority at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. We require the completion of regular mandatory education and provide for frequent continuing educational opportunities within the hospital. With the Tuition Assistance program, St. Anthony reimburses 100 percent of tuition costs for approved courses for full-and part-time employees, up to $2,000 per employee per year.


Holiday Pay

Full-time employees are compensated for six holidays. Part-time and relief employees who work a holiday receive two times their regular rate of pay.


Short Term Disability

St. Anthony provides short term disability for full-time employees who have completed nine months of service, at no cost to the employee. Short-term disability benefits begin on the sixth day of illness or injury and are paid at 66 2/3% percent for up to 13 weeks.
