Katie Towers, RN BSN - Director of Education Service
Katie is a graduate of Grandview University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She has been the Director of Education Services for 36 years. Katie was an innovator in the development of the simulation program in 2009. She directs and manages professional education and staff development. Working closely with the St. Anthony administrative team, she coordinates community education programs.
Margie Glassburner - Administrative Assistant
Margie is the administrative assistant and manages day-to-day operations for St. Anthony Education Services. With a 30 year career at St. Anthony, Margie provides valuable insight to internal and external customers. She manages registrations and tracks data for classes and events.
Peg Buman, RN BSN - Clinical Educator
Peg received her Associates Degree in Nursing from the College of St. Mary and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. She has experience and knowledge in critical care, public health, and environmental health. Peg brings a business background to and has been a part of the St. Anthony team for over 20 years. As a clinical educator, Peg works in staff development and is the student liaison.
Christina Woerdehoff, RN BSN - Clinical Educator
Christina is a graduate of the University of Iowa where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Prior to joining the St. Anthony Education Department in 2017, she worked in hospice care, medical-surgical nursing, orthopedic nursing, and long-term care. As a clinical educator, Christina’s focus is online learning, simulation, and staff development. She also spearheads the Nurse Residency Program at St. Anthony.
Deb Burnett, RN BSN - Clinical Educator
Deb is the employee health nurse and a clinical educator focusing on staff development at St. Anthony. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Western Iowa Tech in 2012, and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2016. Deb started her career at St. Anthony in the Behavioral Medicine Unit 10 years ago, and in 2016, became a certified instructor in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). She is currently pursuing her masters degree as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Tamara Roetman, RN CEN - Life Support Instructor
Tammy is a graduate of Iowa Methodist School of Nursing where she earned her Diploma of Nursing in 1982. She joined the St. Anthony team in 1989 as an emergency department nurse and house supervisor. Shortly after, Tammy became a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). In 2000, to expand her knowledge, she became a certified instructor for Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). Tammy also shares her expertise with St. Anthony and healthcare professionals throughout Iowa as a certified instructor for Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Kaitlin Geake, RN BSN - Certified MOAB Instructor
Kaitlin earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Des Moines Area Community College and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. She has worked at St. Anthony in our medical surgical department and emergency department for the past seven years. In 2017, Kaitlin became a Certified MOAB Instructor. She is able to apply her instructor knowledge to educate St. Anthony employees and in her work as an emergency department nurse.
Joni Saunders LPN - Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor
Joni has been a BLS instructor for 18 years and has served the St. Anthony family for 30 years. Along with instructing BLS classes weekly, Joni currently works in the Iowa Heart Center, Carroll office. Prior to working in respiratory therapy and in the clinic setting, Joni has a 13-year history in long-term care.
