St. Anthony Education Team

Katie TowersKatie Towers, RN BSN, NPD-BC - Director of Education Services

Katie is a graduate of Grandview University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She has been the Director of Education Services for 42 years. Katie was an innovator in the development of the simulation program in 2009. She directs and manages professional education and staff development. Working closely with the St. Anthony administrative team, she coordinates community education programs.  Katie is also an American Heart Association BLS Instructor.  In 2023, Katie earned a specialty certification, through American Nurses Credentialing Center, in Nursing Professional Development.


Christina WoerdehoffChristina Woerdehoff, BSN, RN, CHSE, RHNC Education Services Supervisor

Christina is a graduate of the University of Iowa where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Prior to joining the St. Anthony Education Department in 2017, she worked in hospice care, home health care, medical-surgical nursing, orthopedic nursing, and long-term care. As a clinical educator, Christina manages the online learning management system, simulation, life support certifications, and staff development. She also spearheads the Nurse Residency Program and the Preceptor Development Program at St. Anthony.  Christina is an ATLS Coordinator, Medical Assistant Adjunct Instructor, Certified Nurse Aide Instructor, and an American Heart Association BLS Instructor. In 2022, Christina earned a specialty certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and became AHA Training Center Faculty for Basic Life Support.  Christina received a second certification as a Rural Health Nurse- Certified, in 2023.


Stephanie Neumayer, BSN, RN, MED-SURG-BC PED-BC, Clinical Nurse Educator

Stephanie eStepharned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Steph started at St. Anthony in 2007 working on the medical-surgical and pediatric units. She also has experience in dialysis, long-term care, and infection prevention. As a clinical educator, Stephanie creates online learning modules, provides clinical skills training for staff, facilitates clinical orientation and nursing student clinicals. In 2022, Steph became an AHA ACLS instructor and created a ACLS Preparation course with emphasis on EKG.  Stephanie also works as a Certified Nurse Aide Adjunct Instructor and a Nursing Adjunct Instructor for DMACC. She is also a Medical Assistant Adjunct Instructor for Mercy College of Health Sciences. In 2022, Steph received her specialty certification, through ANCC, as a Medical, Surgical Nurse, Board Certified; in 2023, she received her Pediatric Nurse specialty certification.


HallieHallie Golay, MA, CPTD, Talent and Development Specialist

Hallie received a Master of Arts in Political Science, with a focus on American Politics and Research Methods, from University of Wisconsin- Madison. She also received a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with minors in Journalism and Mass Communication and Spanish, from Iowa State University. Hallie's experience prior to joining the St. Anthony team is in higher education and research. As the Talent and Development Specialist at St. Anthony, Hallie manages student experiences, designs curricula for staff, markets new initiatives, facilitates professional education programs, and administers online learning.  She is pivotal in grant writing and implementation. 


Christina JohnsonChristina Johnson, BSN RNC-NIC, PED-BC, Clinical Nurse Educator

Christina earned her bachelors degree from Coe College.  She served as an instructor at St. Anthony for several years before accepting a position as a clinical nurse educator. Christina  specializes in the care and education of newborns and pediatric patients. She teaches the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).  In 2021, Christina became certified as a STABLE instructor and developed the Newborn Fellowship program. Along with educating St. Anthony staff and community, Christina offers outreach education for surrounding hospitals and health professionals.  Prior to joining St. Anthony, Christina practiced in a level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and was cross trained to the pediatric floor. She served as a member of the Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Team for 7 years. In 2022, Christina attained a specialty certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, and in 2023, she earned her Pediatric Nursing Certification through ANCC.


KariKari Hammer, BSN, RN, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor

After many years as a registered nurse, Kari received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2021. Kari has served as an ACLS instructor since 2020 and has worked at St. Anthony since 2015. She currently serves as the Employee Health Nurse and has a background in emergency and surgical care.


Deb BurnettDeb Burnett, RN BSN - Certified MOAB Instructor

Deb is the Mental Health Services Director at St. Anthony. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Western Iowa Tech in 2012 and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2016. Deb started her career at St. Anthony in the Behavioral Medicine Unit in 2008, and in 2017, became a certified instructor in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).



Kaitlin GeakeKaitlin Geake, RN BSN, CEN - Certified MOAB Instructor

Kaitlin earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Des Moines Area Community College and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. Her career at St. Anthony started on the medical-surgical department.  She currently works in the emergency department and serves as a house supervisor. In 2017, Kaitlin became a Certified MOAB Instructor, and in 2023, she received her specialty certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse.


Joni SaundersJoni Saunders LPN - Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor

Joni has been a BLS instructor for 18 years and has served the St. Anthony family for 30 years. Along with instructing BLS classes weekly, Joni currently works in the Iowa Heart Center, Carroll office. Prior to working in respiratory therapy and in the clinic setting, Joni has a 13-year history in long-term care.
