Dr. Westberg began his career in internal medicine. After two years of practice, he returned to the University of Iowa to focus on medical oncology and hematology. He was the fourth partner to join Hematology and Oncology Associates, now Medical Oncology and Hematology Associates, in 1983. Today, he serves St. Anthony, Pella Regional Health Center and John Stoddard Cancer Center.

Graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a minor in physics. Dr. Westberg completed medical school at the College of Medicine, residency in internal medicine and fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the University of Iowa.
Affiliations:
Dr. Westberg is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He has published four articles as an investigator for the North Central Cancer Treatment Group, which has been a cancer research outreach program of the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer center since 1979.
