Stephanie Neumayer, BSN, RN, MedSurg-BC, PED-BC has been named Great Iowa Nurse through the Great Iowa Nurse Program. One hundred and eight Iowa nurses have been recognized as 2024 Great Iowa Nurses. The program, formerly 100 Great Iowa Nurses, annually honors Iowa nurses for their contributions to the nursing profession.
Nominations for the honor are reviewed by a committee of individuals from a variety of healthcare organizations across Iowa. Great Iowa Nurses are chosen based on demonstrated service to patients, leadership, and mentoring or serving as a role model.
A portion of Stephanie’s nomination read: “Integrity and curiosity are Stephanie’s superpowers. She thoughtfully identifies and pursues ways to improve patient experiences, nursing processes, and staff disposition through mentorship, education, and policy development.”
“As a nurse educator, Stephanie is committed to preparing staff to deliver safe, competent, and thoughtful care. She works with staff across St. Anthony to meet learning needs. In addition to providing classroom orientation and training, she mentors new staff by working alongside them at the bedside. In response to ongoing workforce needs, Stephanie assumed the added roles of CNA instructor, CMA trainer, and adjunct nursing instructor to expand the capacity of local healthcare education programs.”
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, St. Anthony employees and family and friends of Stephanie gathered at St. Anthony to celebrate her achievements.
“Stephanie is a true example of what it means to be a Great Iowa Nurse,” said Anita Becker, Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer at St. Anthony. “She brings extensive knowledge to the education department and shows leadership and dedication. We are proud to have Stephanie at St. Anthony Regional Hospital!”
