St. Anthony Regional Hospital today announced that it has been named as one of the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals in the United States by The Chartis Center for Rural Health for the second year. St. Anthony is only one of three rural hospitals in Iowa to receive this recognition and the only one in our region. This annual award honoring rural hospital performance is determined by the results of the Hospital Strength INDEX® from iVantage Health Analytics, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2020.
“We at St. Anthony are very proud to be recognized as a top performing rural hospital,” said Ed Smith, President and CEO. “The dedication and excellent care provided by our staff consistently positions us as the regional leader.”
Leveraging only publicly available data, the INDEX methodology utilizes 50 rural-relevant indicators that span eight, equally weighted pillars of performance (i.e. Inpatient Market Share, Outpatient Market Share, Cost, Charge, Quality, Outcomes, Patient Perspective and Finance). Hospitals recognized as Top 100 facilities had the 100 highest overall scores among all Critical Access Hospitals or Rural & Community Hospitals nationally.
