Over $76,000 Raised for Cancer Services

The 20th annual St. Anthony Golf Classic, held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Carroll Country Club, generated an unprecedented amount for the hospital and its services – $76,575. Proceeds from this year’s Golf Classic are dedicated to St. Anthony cancer services. To date, more than $986,000  has been raised through St. Anthony’s annual golf outing for hospital projects, including cardiology services, cancer services, cancer endowment, pastoral care endowment, physician recruitment, emergency department, and healthcare scholarships.

“On behalf of St. Anthony Regional Hospital, I am honored and humbled by the outpouring of support our community members in the region and the state of Iowa have displayed through this year’s Golf Classic,” said Randal Hess, M.D., Radiation Oncologist at St. Anthony. “It is through a combination of community support and the skilled hands of our medical team members at St. Anthony that we can continue to advance the quality, compassionate cancer care services we offer locally. I am proud to serve the hospital and a community that contributes tremendously to this endeavor.”

A $10,000 Putting Challenge was co-sponsored by Carroll Broadcasting and Sharp Funeral Home. Carroll Hy-Vee provided a grand prize of $500 in Hy-Vee gift cards to the winning team and the last place prize was provided by Madame Mary.
