The St. Anthony Foundation Healthcare Scholarship awarded $51,600 in scholarships to 40 students in west central Iowa this spring. These scholarships are awarded annually to individuals pursuing professional health care careers in the six-county region, including Audubon, Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Greene and Sac counties. Although 2020 was a challenging year, the generosity of area donors made it possible to award a record amount of funding to students. Since the beginning of the scholarship program in 2003, $206,000 in awards have helped 276 students achieve their goal of continued education in health care.
“For St. Anthony, it is an honor to award our scholarships to deserving students in west central Iowa each year. We do it with the goal of encouraging their continued education in health care,” said Trish Roberts, St. Anthony Development Director. “We are grateful to the families and donors who make these scholarships a reality, often through endowed gifts, to the St. Anthony Foundation Healthcare Scholarship. This allows us to invest in future generations of health care professionals who we hope will live in and serve our local communities.”
