Program Description
This course will review assessment of the pediatric patient, including age-appropriate considerations for care, early recognition of deterioration, and appropriate treatments for respiratory illness and dehydration.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Foster a safe and trusting care environment for pediatric patients and their families
- Express confidence in their assessment skills of the pediatric patient
- Utilize the bronchiolitis scoring tool
- Demonstrate competence in setting up a Vapotherm high flow nasal cannula system
- Identify the elements of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) assessment triangle and apply it to pediatric assessments
- Identify signs of sepsis and risk factors in pediatric patients
- Outline the appropriate respiratory assessment techniques in infants and children
- Describe common pediatric respiratory illness and associate the appropriate treatment

St. Anthony Education Center, fourth floor of the Surgery Building.
Parking is available in the garage on the lower levels of the Surgery Building.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
A fee of $30 will be retained for cancellations received 10 days prior to course date. There will be no refund for cancellations received less than 10 days prior to the course date, though registration is transferrable to another person attending the same session.
St. Anthony reserves the right to cancel the program due to insufficient enrollment. If this occurs, participant’s entire registration fee will be refunded.
