Course Description
The Advanced Trauma Life Support Refresher Course is an educational program designed for physicians and advanced practice providers primarily responsible for managing the critically-injured patient.
Participants in this course must have an ATLS Provider Card that is within 6 months of expiration to be eligible for the refresher course.
Initial assessment and management of specific injuries are presented through lecture and skill stations. The participant observes and practices to proficiency, those life-saving skills necessary in the initial management and stabilization of the trauma victim.
Continuing Education
The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The American College of Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits listed above, a maximum of 5.5 credits meet the requirements for Self-Assessment.
