Sara (Roth) Gonnerman, MSN, RN
Interim Director of Patient Services (Chief Nursing Officer)
Sara wears many hats as director of Emergency Department, Respiratory Therapy, and Cardiac & Pulmonology Rehabilitation.
She graduated from Des Moines Area Community College with an Associate’s Degree and Chamberlain College of Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She achieved her masters degree in Nursing Leadership from Purdue University.
Sara began at St. Anthony in 2006 as a CNA on the MSP floor while still in nursing school. She became an LPN and continued working and going to school until earning her Registered Nurse licensure. In 2008, she began working in the Emergency Department, also teaching Trauma Nursing Core Course, and working as a House Supervisor, which eventually led to the Emergency Department manager position, and eventually to the positions she directs today.
Sara is a member of Emergency Nurse’s Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Society of Trauma Nurses, Iowa Trauma Coordinators, Carroll County Emergency Preparedness Coalition, DMACC Advisory Council, and West Central Iowa Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Sara has been a past receipient of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses award and also the Emergency Nurses Association Leadership Achievement award in 2023.

"We are constantly evolving and working towards goals to help provide exceptional care to our area communities as well as support and develop our team. It has been an incredible experience and there are so many great things happening led by an amazing team."
Sara and her husband, Mitchell have three young children. They spend most of their time around their kids’ activities and sporting events.
