Woerdehoff and Wuebker Named 2023 Great Iowa Nurses

Christina Woerdehoff, BSN, RN, CHSE, and Jamie Wuebker, RN have been named Great Iowa Nurses through the Great Iowa Nurses Program.

Christina Woerdehoff, BSN, RN, CHSE, and Jamie Wuebker, RN have been named Great Iowa Nurses through the Great Iowa Nurses Program. Seventy-eight Iowa nurses have been recognized as 2023 Great Iowa Nurses. The program, formerly 100 Great Iowa Nurses, annually honors Iowa nurses for their contributions to the nursing profession.

Nominations for the honor are reviewed by a committee of individuals from a variety of healthcare organizations across Iowa. Great Iowa Nurses are chosen on the basis of demonstrated service to patients, leadership, and mentoring or serving as a role model.

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, St. Anthony employees and the families and friends of Woerdehoff and Wuebker gathered in the hospital’s Atrium to celebrate their achievements.

“Christina and Jamie are true examples of what it means to be a Great Iowa Nurse,” said Anita Becker, Vice President of Patients Services and Chief Nursing Officer at St. Anthony. “Both bring extensive knowledge to their respective departments and show leadership and dedication. We are proud to have them at St. Anthony!”

ChristinaChristina Woerdehoff is the St. Anthony Education Services Supervisor. As a nurse educator, Woerdehoff leads many initiatives impacting St. Anthony’s ability to deliver quality care and providing a workplace where the staff can learn and grow. Woerdehoff resides in Lake View with her husband, Chris, and three children Eli (6), Isaac (3), and Lea (1).

Jamie Wuebker is the Director of Carroll County Ambulance Service and also works in theJamie St. Anthony Emergency Department. Wuebker has worked as a paramedic and volunteer firefighter. Wuebker resides in Carroll and has three adult children Tyler, his wife Kate and their daughter Adeline live in Ames, Wuebker’s daughter Brianna recently obtained her nursing degree from DMACC, and his youngest daughter Grace will be graduating from Carroll High in a few weeks.
