St. Anthony to Host Diabetes Education Event
Tuesday, 25 SEPTEMBER 2018

St. Anthony Regional Hospital is excited to host a free community event, Is Your Diabetes Puzzling You? Let Us Help You... Put the Pieces Together! This "To Your Health" community education program is sponsored by the Chronic Care Center at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. The program will be held at the Carrollton Centre Ballroom in Carroll on Wednesday, October 17. Guests can socialize and shop vendor booths specific to diabetes medication, supplies and insurance assistance beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by the program from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

"This event provides fun and educational elements. It allows those living with diabetes or caring for someone with diabetes the opportunity to meet members of our team," said Cara Vogl, ARNP, St. Anthony Chronic Care Center. "Come find out why you shouldn't panic when managing diabetes or first learning you have been diagnosed. We will give ideas on taking care of your diabetes and how to have fun while doing it, which may surprise you! We hope that after this event you will put on your detective hat, and put the pieces of your health puzzle together."

St. Anthony team members will be onsite to lead discussion, teach a few chair-based exercises, and host a question and answer session, including: Vogl; Deb Adams, ARNP, Chronic Care Center Director; Deb Dieter, RN, Diabetes Educator; and Registered Dietitians Sasha Bloyer and Krista Heuton.

"Come and visit the vendor booths for the latest innovations in diabetes care," Adams said. "Participants may learn new ways to best manage their care, and family members may get a better sense of how to care for their loved ones. In addition, representatives from the Department of Human Services and Medicare will be onsite to answer insurance related questions."

To register for the free community event, call St. Anthony Regional Hospital Education Department at (712) 794-5243 or email education@stanthonyhospital.org.
