Daisy Award Winner - Sandi Cook!

DAISY LogoSandi Cook, BSN, BA was presented with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at a receptionSandi Cook with her family and co-workers on August 11. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform daily.

A portion of the nomination submission read: "A few months ago I traveled to Iowa to see my aunt who lives in Coon Rapids. She wanted to sign up for an e-chart at St. Anthony. With the help of my son, I thought we could do this one simple thing. But when we tried it said we had to contact a number that went to voicemail since it was after hours. Feeling like a failure I went to the grocery store to get my aunt some of her favorite treats when I saw a lady with a St. Anthony Quality Management shirt on. I explained my dilemma hoping she knew a direct after hour’s number. She introduced herself as Sandi Cook and said it was my lucky day because she was just the person I needed. We ended up going back to my aunt’s house and Sandi took out her computer. Sandi helped us set up proxy access so we can monitor the records from Minnesota. She did all of this after hours on her own time. Thank you Sandi for bridging the distance for our family! Your kindness and patience are appreciated more than you will ever know!"

Sandi began her career at St. Anthony in 2014 as an LLS Systems Analyst for Quality Management. She then transitioned to the Clinic Analyst Nurse and eventually the Lead Clinical Analyst where she has been working since.

Thank you, Sandi, for going above and beyond for patients, families, and our community!

Holy Spirit Sisters from Africa and India Serving Out Their Missions in Carroll

St. Anthony Nursing Home is blessed to have Holy Spirit Sisters from both Africa and India. The Carroll Times Herald recently wrote stories on each of their groups. In summary, both groups of Sisters work at St. Anthony Nursing Home as CNAs to raise money for their respective communities in Africa and India. In the near future, information will be shared about monetary donations if you would like to contribute to their communities. Please take the time to read the stories.
