Wave of Light - Sunday, October 15

St. Anthony invites you to join us in honoring the memory of babies who left too soon due to pregnancy and infant loss.

We are hosting a local Wave of Light event, which is part of a global movement to raise awareness and support for bereaved families.

The service will be on Sunday, October 15 at 6:30 PM in the St. Anthony Memorial Garden, located just outside of the Atrium. The service will honor the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and grandchildren now in Heaven. There will be prayer, reflection, refreshments and a candle-lighting ceremony at 7 PM.

Those who have experienced loss are welcome to attend, as well as any community member who wants to show their support as we spend time remembering these precious lives.

Christina Woerdehoff Receives Rural Health Nursing Certification

CWCongratulations to Christina Woerdehoff, BSN-RN, CHSE, for completing the Rural Health Nurse Certification Program! Sponsored by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA), the first cohort for this nation-wide program launched in May 2023. Christina was one of three Iowa representatives to take part and, as such, is among the first nurses in Iowa to receive this specialty designation.

The NRHA recognizes that rural nurses are skilled at having broad nursing knowledge and balancing the needs of their patients with the resources offered in rural America. Rural nursing is its own specialty, and that understanding led to the development of the first-ever rural nurse certification program. The course is designed to equip rural nurses with information, resources, and a network of colleagues to help them provide high-quality care in rural settings while recognizing and celebrating their vast skillsets.

Way to go Christina!
