Program Description
This two-part series will inform healthcare professionals who provide diabetes care in any setting about the latest treatment strategies for glycemic control to help patients achieve optimum health outcomes. Lunch will be provided.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to:
•Discuss the application of mindful eating as a component of diabetes self-management.
•Describe the Plate Method for Diabetes as a guide for planning meals.
•Emphasize lifestyle management as the mainstay of diabetes care.
•Discuss oral pharmacotherapies for patients living with diabetes.
•Explain the action of new pharmacotherapies that combine glucose lowering benefits with cardiovascular protection for at risk patients.
•Apply knowledge of pharmacotherapies to selected case studies.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
A fee of $10 will be retained for cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the course. Registration is transferrable to another person or session. Cancellations must be called to the Education Department at 712-794-5243.

St. Anthony reserves the right to cancel the program due to insufficient enrollment. If this occurs, participants' entire registration fee will be refunded.

Parking is available in the garage on the lower levels of the Education Center-Surgery Building.
