Job Description
SUMMARY Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds of St. Anthony campus and off-site clinics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, plant flowers, foliage and trees.
Plan and cultivate lawns and gardens.
Rake, mulch, trim and clean flower beds.
Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, grubbing, and removing thatch. Trimming and edging around flower beds, walks and walls.
Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides onto grass, shrubs and trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees and shrubs. Mulch and stake as needed.
Mow and edge lawns using appropriate power equipment.
Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using shears, pruners or chain saws.
Cut down trees as needed.
Water lawns, trees and plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses and watering cans.
Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences and planters.
Set out lawn furniture.
Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters and other grounds features.
Maintain sidewalks and walkways free of tripping hazards and debris.
Shovel snow from walks, driveways and parking lots and spread salt in those areas.
Perform routine repairs and maintenance in designated buildings.
Utilize all safety and personal protective equipment.
Report any unsafe condition or safety hazard immediately to the Director, Facility Services.
Maintain a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
Use and maintain hospital equipment according to manufactures instructions. Ensure Department equipment is in good working order and safe to use.
Completes all other duties as assigned by the Director, Facility Services.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Attends all mandatory meetings, trainings and programs, HealthStream requirements, etc.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organization.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education or general equivalency diploma (GED)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Landscaper must have the ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Landscaper must have the ability to write correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, families, and other employees or the organization.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Knowledge of the operation and repair of a variety of types of equipment and machinery including, but not limited to, power tools, tractors, lawn mowers, compressors, engines, and pumps.
