ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs respiratory therapy treatments in a hospital setting. Outpatient procedures include EEG's and pulmonary function tests. We currently perform in-house and home sleep studies. Previous experience with these procedures is a plus. Cleans equipment. Maintains respiratory supplies for various areas in the Hospital and orders departmental supplies. Responsible for ventilator and BiPAP management.

Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct. Attends all mandatory meetings and programs. Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.

Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of Iowa or able to obtain one before hire.

BCLS certification within three months of employment. ACLS certification within one year.

Registered Polysomnograph Tech license in the State of Iowa is a plus.

Language skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, patients, families and the general public.
