Job Description

SUMMARY Provides screening to all visitors and staff entering the building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Good communication skills. First person employees and patients will see when entering the hospital.

Knowledgeable of Covid-19 and committed to keeping up with the ever-changing information.

Clinical knowledge preferred. As we start to see positive Covid-19 cases, there will be more people presenting with symptoms that will need appropriate guidance.

Be assertive, yet compassionate. Staff need to understand and feel comfortable reiterating the importance of the process and follow through with the guidelines.

Feel comfortable adequately screening each person who enters the door. This includes coworkers, physicians, supervisors and administration. This may constitute telling them they may not proceed to work if they do not clear screening criteria.

Be willing to fill all shifts. These shifts include nights and weekends.

Be present at the table for their whole shift, aside from breaks and lunch.

Be willing to accept duties as assigned. If they are the second person at a location, they are deemed to be a “floater.” This responsibility involves transporting patients from one location to another, relieving staff assigned to other entrance doors, etc. When not performing these duties, they will return to their ‘base door location’ so they can be readily available if needed.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, families and other employees or the organization.
