Job Description

We are accepting applications for relief status CNA's should our need for additional temporary staff arise due to COVID-19. 

You may be contacted if additional staff is needed. 

SUMMARY Provide direct patient care tasks related to patient hygiene, nutrition and fluid, mobility, and transport under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties within the scope of the nursing assistant may be assigned.

Performs essential patient care tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members.

Seeks guidance from RN or other healthcare team members, as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties.

Obtains and records patient data in the EMR promptly and accurately, as identified in the nursing assistant’s scope of practice.

Reports concise and timely patient information, including change of status, to the RN and other members of the healthcare team. Patient hand-offs will be done with attention to detail and with safety as a high priority.

Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions, and complying with hazardous waste procedures.

Complies with the St. Anthony Corporate Compliance Policy and follows standards of conduct relating to the position.

Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Participation in a Basic Nursing Assistant course, Medical Assistant Course, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, EMT training course, or other related training or experience provides a background preparation for this role. Certification or course completion is not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers, patients, families and employees of the organization.
