Anita Becker

As Vice President of Patient Services, Anita oversees the hospital nursing departments. She works closely with the nursing directors to ensure high quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Together they collaborate on new initiatives and programs that affect both patients and staff in a positive way.

Beginning as a bedside staff nurse in critical care, Anita has had the privilege of a 30 year career in healthcare. During her career, she has held many leadership positions serving the needs of her patients, her community and her colleagues. Most recently, she served as the Interim Hospital Administrator and Director of Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive at Shriners Hospital for Children in Honolulu, Hawaii leading the organizations operations, strategic initiatives and clinical team. She has served as Chief Nursing Officer at Physicians Medical Center in Houma, LA, and Director of Critical Care Services in Slidell, LA.

She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Administration from Samford University. Her Master of Science Nursing, Nurse Executive, was earned at Chamberlain College of Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University.

When speaking to the importance of nursing, I will always defer to the words of nursing theorist, Dr. Jean Watson, when she stated “Maybe this one moment, with this one person, is the very reason we’re here on Earth at this time.” In those words, she distilled what it means to be a nurse and embodies the Mission of St. Anthony Regional Hospital. We are dedicated to improving the health of the people we serve because it is our reason for being.

Anita and John, her husband, moved to Carroll from Hawaii. John and Anita have four children, one grandson, and one not so tiny Great Dane named Annabelle. Currently, their children are in Colorado, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and California. Favorite hobbies include travel, time spent with family and reading a great book!
