Sunday, 16 May 2010

“Ms. Timm has an extensive background in nursing administration and shares St. Anthony’s goal of working to provide quality, compassionate care,” said Gary Riedmann, hospital president.

Timm received her nursing degree at Morningside College and her Masters of Nursing Administration at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She worked in Western Iowa and Omaha hospitals as a nurse manager in the areas of obstetrics, orthopedics, neurology and rehabilitation, and served as the Chief Nursing Officer at Mahaska Health Partnership, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Most recently, her duties as a Senior Healthcare Consultant encompassed responsibilities that included evaluating and implementing processes to improve patient care and satisfaction in hospitals nationwide. As St. Anthony’s nursing administrator, Timm will work directly with nursing staff and physicians to optimize the care each patient receives at St. Anthony.

“I am honored to become part of an organization with such a long standing reputation and emphasis on quality patient care and satisfaction,” said Timm.  “My goal is to continue the excellent work that has been started, keeping Patient Services in the forefront of healthcare delivery.”

Karen will be moving to the area later this summer with her husband, Roger.  Roger is currently teaching elementary school science in the Knoxville Community School District.  The Timms have one son who is attending Iowa State University.

Joyce Ryberg, who is concluding a distinguished career at St. Anthony as Vice President for Patient Services, plans to return to the Omaha area to be closer to her family.
