Occuptational Therapy Month Celebrated at St. Anthony

Thursday, 15 April 2010
Occupational therapy is a health profession that helps people whose lives have been affected by illness or injury. Those who can benefit from occupational therapy range from the tiniest of newborn infants to senior citizens, and every age in between. The occupational therapy staff, at St. Anthony, offers knowledge and skills to treat the pediatric population, to get injured workers back- to-work, and help older people who may suffer from the effects of arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury, or general weakness. The goal of occupational therapy is to help individuals gain as much independence as possible in their “occupation” of life – work, school, play/leisure, and self-care activities.
