St. Anthony Foundation Receives $100,000 from Gilbert Renze Estate

St. Anthony Foundation has received $100,000 from Gilbert Renze’s estate to be used towards the renovation of the Emergency Department at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Mr. Renze managed the Gus Schroeder Elevator Co. for 26 years. He was then a loan officer at Production Credit in Ida Grove until retiring in 1988. Additionally, he was mayor of Wall Lake for 14 years and a great supporter of
St. Anthony Regional Hospital.

 “We are extremely pleased to have received this gift from Gilbert’s Estate,” said Gary Riedmann, President of St. Anthony Regional Hospital and Nursing Home. “These monies will help ensure that patients coming to St. Anthony for emergency care receive the best possible care a private, professional environment.”

Total cost for the emergency department renovation and expansion is budgeted to be $4 million. St. Anthony plans to raise $1 million in donations, with the remainder of the project being funded through organizational reserves and hospital operations.
