St. Anthony Announces Repurposing of Community Health Center Clinic Space

Thursday, 30 August 2012

The announcement paves the way for additional growth in the St. Anthony medical clinic system, by adding physicians and specialties in the new clinic to provide primary medical services to the Carroll community on the hospital campus.

Construction will begin in November and be completed in June 2013. Architects for the project are Horty Elving & Associates, construction manager is Graham Construction. General contractor for the project is Badding Construction, Drees Company is the mechanical and electrical contractor.

Providers seeing patients in the new clinic include family medicine specialists, Brian Pratt, M.D.; David Nystrom, D.O.; Tina Flores, M.D.; and Hope Jensen, ARNP. Pediatricians Karla Cheney, M.D. and Tina Hahn, M.D. provide an enhanced focus on caring for children. Nelson Lo, M.D., provides specialized obstetrical and gynecologic care for women.  The new clinic will offer electronic health records, in clinic imaging including ultrasound, bone density testing, and x-ray. Patients will find easy access to the clinic’s first floor location from parking on the south side of the hospital.

“We see combining the Family Care Physicians Clinic and OB/GYN Consultants Clinic into what will become known as the St. Anthony Clinic, on the first floor of the Community Health Center, as an investment in the health of our community that opens up many options for the expansion of services on campus and helps St. Anthony provide more options to patients,” said Ed Smith, Interim CEO.

“This is an exciting time for everyone associated with St. Anthony,” Smith continued. “This illustrates St. Anthony’s commitment to providing a continuity of primary care on our campus.”

Once complete, the newly created clinic area will provide an outstanding patient experience. The new clinic space will be patient-centric, with enhanced patient flow and direct access to diagnostic evaluations and treatment.

The clinic design reflects St. Anthony’s tradition of delivering highly personalized service to the Carroll area. “Our goal was to offer our patients a comforting, healing environment that is conveniently located on the
St. Anthony campus to meet all of their healthcare needs,” said Smith.

“Members of administration, family medicine, pediatrics and OB/GYN providers, along with their staff, have been involved in the planning for the new clinic,” said Gary Schroeder, Vice President for Networking. The design planning process began months ago and focused on using space and resources wisely to help make a trip to the doctor’s office as pleasant and efficient as possible.
