Margaret Seidl, a registered nurse, grew up in the Dedham area and worked as a nurse for over 40 years in Washington D.C. When Margaret retired she returned to live in Carroll, living first at Orchard View apartments and then in the St. Anthony Nursing Home. Margaret passed away in 2005, at the age of 95, and her legacy lives on through scholarships to future healthcare workers.

“Margaret was very proud to be a nurse. She left a portion of her estate to help young people who want to become nurses,” said Trish Roberts, St. Anthony Development Director. “Through her generous gift, Margaret continues to touch lives today and for generations to come.”

Scholarship applications are available in January of each year through area high schools, Des Moines Area Community College and online at www.stanthonyhospital.org/foundation. An independent committee reviews applications and makes recommendations for scholarship awards. For more info, contact foundation@stanthonyhospital.org
