Stuffed Animals for St. Anthony Patients

Friday, 09 March 2012

Brianna has been selected to take a trip to England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales through the People to People Student Ambassador Program. Brianna held a “Bears for Boo Boo’s” fundraiser to cover her costs for the trip. Supporters donated $5 to purchase a bear that was then donated to St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Coon Rapids Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Thomas Rest Haven and Regency Care Center all helped support Brianna in this project.

“I am lucky to be chosen to go with People to People to Europe this summer. The 19 day route will include talking to a Member of Parliament, spending the night in a Dublin household, and repelling off a castle wall. I will also see Big Ben and a real trebuchet in action,” said Brianna. “I like that this fundraiser is allowing me to make special kids in the hospital feel happy and go on my trip.”

The bears donated to St. Anthony will be given to children that are patients in the Emergency Department or Surgery Center. Trish Roberts, Development Director added, “Through this project, Brianna showed the special care she has for children. Brianna will have a wonderful opportunity to travel and meet new people while representing Carroll County.”

Briana is the child of Joe and Kiane Goebel of Coon Rapids. Anyone wishing to participate in Bears for Boo Boo’s can call 712-999-2478.
