Talking with Your Doctor”
Robert Behrens, MD Medical Oncologist

Monday, March 12, 2012 ~ 5:15 – 6:15 pm

Talking openly with your cancer care team is important. They want to answer all of your questions, but it helps if you know what to ask. Through this session, you will gain tools you can use to help you better understand your cancer and your treatment options. Please join us!

Sharing the Cancer Journey~
For most people, a diagnosis of cancer can be an overwhelming experience, producing an array of emotions. Fear of the effects of the disease and its treatments, and worry over role changes at home or at work can make people feel isolated and alone, at a time when they need others most.

The opportunity to share experiences and concerns with others who are able to understand can ease the sense of loneliness and stress.  “Sharing the Cancer Journey” is an information and support program for people who are facing cancer and their caregivers.

The monthly meetings are a place to learn about cancer and cancer treatments, to gain positive coping skills, and to exchange information and ideas with those who have had similar experiences.

INTENDED FOR
Meetings provide an opportunity to connect with others whose lives are affected by cancer and who share similar concerns. Led by Cancer Team members, sessions provide cancer support, information, and resources to help families cope with cancer.

MEETINGS
This is the first in a series of cancer information and support sessions which will be ongoing.
Meetings will be held each month on the second Monday.
Light meal and drink refreshments will be provided.

LOCATION
