Nurses' Week Bake Sale Benefits Scholarship

Thursday, 26 May 2011

“Our goal with having a bake sale for the scholarship fund is to attract bright, intelligent students interested in nursing who will want to work at St. Anthony,” said Sandy Cayler RN BSN, Clinical Supervisor of the Inpatient Mental Health Unit.

Pat Hogan, Birth Place Nurse Manager explained, “We chose to fund the scholarship endowment because Sheryl was a St. Anthony nurse and we are assisting in the education of future nurses.”

This year, two scholarships were given to area students, in memory of Sheryl Stoolman. Megan Croghan of Manilla, a student at Grand View University, and Stephanie Brincks of Carroll, a student at Clarkson College, each were awarded a $500 Sheryl M. Venner Stoolman Scholarship for nursing.
