Patients Benefit from Changes to St. Anthony Statements

 With a goal of providing better service to patients, we have out sourced patient statements to our trusted partner Avadyne Health also known as Preferred Medical Deposit (PMD).  Avadyne Health is an Iowa-based leader in hospital receivables management and has been working with St. Anthony for over twenty years. 

The goals of the change are to make the patient statements more user friendly and easier to read, to increase patient contact by phone and mail after services are rendered, and to make the payment plan option more efficient.  In the past, accounts were transferred to PMD only after the patient had received multiple statements.  Now, accounts will be sent to PMD immediately following insurance payment and a statement of the remaining amount due will be mailed to the patient. It is important to note that, all accounts, even those in good standing, will receive a statement from PMD. The statement will simply look a little different from those received from St. Anthony in the past. 

St. Anthony patients will be notified about the change to the new statements by mail before the beginning of May.  Patients will also receive an itemized statement of any accounts currently owed to allow for comparison with the new statement from PMD.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) about the new statements from PMD:

Can I still pay the Hospital directly?
Yes, however it is recommended that you send your payment through the mail to the listed address on your statement.  If you would like to drop your payment off you may still do so at the hospital Patient Finance Office located on the first floor.  You may also pay online.

What is the contact information for PMD?

Is PMD a Collection Agency?
No, they are a statement vendor/account follow up agency.  They are not a collection agency.

Where do I call if I have a problem with my Insurance? Or need an itemized statement.
You may still call the St. Anthony Patient Finance main line 712-794-5250 and we will be able to direct you to the proper insurance specialist.  Please remember that it is always a good idea to contact your insurance company as well.  You can also call this number for Itemized statements, however one will be included in the first statement you receive.  Other questions can be directed to 1-800-777-8645.

How do I set up a payment arrangement?
Please contact the payment center at 1-800-777-8645 to set up your payment plan. 

Why did I receive a call from the Payment Center?
The Payment Center sends out a statement after your insurance has paid, after 15 days they will call to follow up and see if they can assist you in setting up a payment plan amount and date.  They do this to better assist the patients.

Will my insurance information be listed on my statement?
Yes, insurance information will be listed on the right hand side of your statement.  Insurance payments will be listed under the Account Summary.

Payroll Deduct for St. Anthony Employees
Payroll deduct is an option for all St. Anthony Employees who receive a regular paycheck. Your payment will automatically be taken out of your paycheck. If the employee is on PAYROLL DEDUCT the statement will not change, it will look as it has always looked.  They will not need to change anything.  If the situation occurs where an employee on PAYROLL DEDUCT receives a statement from PMD, a call can be made to 712-794-5233 to let us know and the account will be transferred back to the normal statement.
