VA Clinic Celebration on November 11th

Monday, 01 November 2010

The event, fittingly set on Veterans Day, will celebrate the dedicated men and women who serve our country and the recent selection of St. Anthony by the Veterans Administration as a new VA Clinic site to serve the veterans of Western Iowa. A short program will be held.

St. Anthony is pleased to partner with the Veterans Administration in the design and development of space to provide medical care to the veterans of Western Iowa. The community-based outpatient clinic, or CBOC, is one of 31 clinics nationwide to be opened by the Veterans Administration and will initially provide veterans from Western Iowa with primary medical care, mental health services, OEF/OIF and social work, laboratory and pharmacy services. Plans call for the addition of audiology and optometry care in the future.

Construction will be completed in January 2011 on the new 9,805 square foot clinic that will offer area veterans and their families the convenience of covered parking, and options for dining or shopping on campus and in the community. Currently, area veterans have to travel up to 100 miles to receive medical care from other VA facilities, making the location of this new clinic important to the 2,500 veterans it will serve.

The Veterans Administration will offer a sign-up for veterans who want to receive care at the Carroll CBOC location.

Questions should be directed to Gary Riedmann, President, St. Anthony Regional Hospital at (712) 794-5231.
