Things to Bring with you to the Hospital
Have your suitcase packed about a month before your due date, in case you deliver early. And be sure your labor partner knows where it is kept.

Labor Bag for Labor & Birth
  • Lip balm
  • Lotion for massage (for use during labor)
  • Focal point (picture photo or stuffed animal)
  • Hand fan
  • Warm socks
  • Back massager
  • Hair brush
  • Rubber bands/barrettes for long hair
  • Camera, film, batteries, camcorder with extra battery pack
  • Reading material
  • List of phone numbers, calling card
  • Instant energy for coach (granola bars, fruit, etc)
  • Tape/CD player and CD/tapes

Suitcase Suggestions
  • Gowns (1 or 2) – should open easily in front if breastfeeding
  • Robe – washable and discreet
  • Slippers
  • Underwear (2 or 3 pair)
  • Cosmetics/toiletries – shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash
  • Change for small purchases
  • Sanitary pads are supplied by the hospital

For the Trip Home For Mom:
  • Clothing that fit you when you were 4 or 5 months pregnant will be comfortable for the trip home.

For Baby:
  • Car seat
  • “Going Home” outfit
  • Receiving blanket
  • Sweater and cap depending on season
  • Heavier outer blanket depending on the weather
  • Special outfit for newborn photos (if desired)
