Through the efforts of our employee volunteers, the No One Dies Alone program provides a reassuring presence to dying patients who would otherwise be alone. Trained volunteers from St. Anthony’s staff offer compassionate companionship to patients and residents who are alone during their final hours. Our Mission With the support and training from St. Anthony’s nursing staff, social services and pastoral care, compassionate companions offer patients and residents the most valuable of human gifts—a dignified death. Who Benefits from No One Dies Alone? If the patient or resident does not have family or friends locally, or has family who are traveling to be by their side, or if the patient or resident does not have family and friends involved and present, St. Anthony’s No One Dies Alone program will arrange for a trained volunteer to be a companion at the bedside with compassion and dignity. How to Begin the Program During evenings and nights, call 712-794-5555 and ask to speak with the nursing supervisor.
