St. Anthony
Regional Hospital NEWS RELEASE
November 1, 2006 Centralized Monitoring System Enhances Care at The Birth Place The number of births at St. Anthony is continually on the rise and so is the quality of care newborns receive at The Birthplace. In addition to the expansion of The Birth Place currently underway, a new central monitoring system, Centricity Perinatal Clinical Information System, has been integrated into care for expectant mothers and new babies. The new central monitoring system makes documentation more efficient for labor/delivery and post-partum charting, allowing staff more time for the personalized care of new families. The new central monitoring system allows nurses to view the information recorded from multiple labor/delivery patients simultaneously from any monitor in the department. Alarms are set to help alert staff of possible situations that may need more immediate attention. The “OB Link” Remote Physician Access option makes critical information available when and where it is needed. Fetal monitor strips can be viewed from the physician’s office and even their home through a secure site. From pre-natal to delivery, the information that the new monitoring system stores helps caregivers provide quality, individualized care as The Birth Place continues to provide “A Loving Start for Every Baby and Loving Care for Every Mom.” |
