SIOUXLAND COMMUNITY BLOODBANK DELIVERS TEDDY BEARS TO AREA HOSPITALS
CARROLL, IA –For the fifth consecutive year, hospitals that depend on Siouxland Community Blood Bank (SCBB) blood and blood products have received a teddy bear to brighten the hospital stay of a child or newborn over the holiday season.
Pat Hogan, Director of The Birth Place at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, presented the teddy bear, on behalf of Siouxland Community Blood Bank, to St. Anthony’s Christmas baby, Aiden Joseph Bauer and his mother, Heather Bauer. Aiden was born on December 25th, at 4:37 a.m. “Patients at St. Anthony depend on the blood supply provided by Siouxland Blood Bank,” said Hogan. “Having blood available whenever it is needed truly makes a lifesaving difference to our community.”
St. Anthony Regional Hospital is one of 36 hospitals in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota served by Siouxland Community Blood Bank. SCBB is the exclusive provider of blood and blood products at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. “Our first mission is to maintain a safe and plentiful blood supply for the hospitals we serve,” said Tim Hess, SCBB Director of Marketing. “That mission directly impacts patients of all ages and their families throughout the year. We hope that this teddy bear will make the holiday season a bit brighter for Siouxland’s youngest patients.”
