Dr. David Nystrom will begin practicing full time at the St. Anthony Coon Rapids Medical Clinic on August 1, 2007. Dr. Nystrom specializes in family practice, caring for people of all ages who have medical emergencies, acute medical problems or long-term existing illnesses. He has extensive experience delivering babies and caring for newborns and children. Dr. Nystrom has special interest in caring for the medical conditions of adults and older individuals. Dr. Nystrom is on the medical staff at St. Anthony Regional Hospital where he will hospitalize people needing inpatient care. 

Dr. Nystrom resides in Carroll, with his wife Melissa, an elementary school teacher, and two sons Zack and James. He completed medical school at Des Moines University and is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa Affiliated Family Medicine Residency Program, in Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. Nystrom is a native of Sioux Center, Iowa where his father is a family practice physician.
